Mine does the same. It was standing in a garage for a year before I bought it.
Bushings more than likely

So, after replacing all the bushings on the front end, and the transmission mounting bushing, my S90 drives like a new car. Totally love it!

Hi, How much did it cost for all the front bushings to be replaced and did you go to a main volvo dealer for the work to be done?

Update- a really good local Volvo mechanic took a look at my car and said that the bushings were OK for now but he said tat who ever replaced them previously, did not load the front end of the car (i.e. torqued the bushing while the car was on the lift) when the bushings were tightened. He said the car's front end must be loaded down when they are tightened. Somehow he could tell it was done improperly. He said to wait until the noise gets more noticeable (he said that S90's were by nature a little noisy n the suspension) and he would replace them then
