I've bought used remote for my C70 1999. The remote has exact serial number that I need.
I've went to my dealer and he said that he won't program it, because I need a brand new remote, that has never been programmed. From used one it's not possible to get the PIN code or something.

What can I do now?
New one costs fortune and programming costs the same.

My neighbour gave me a spare remote few years ago, and I had it re-programmed to work on my 98 V70XC. I have bought a few used remotes from Ebay as well, and they all got re-programmed by my local dealer for about $15CAN per remote. I had in total of 6 remotes for my 98 V70XC and of 4 were used. So I think your local dealer just wants you to spent more money at his shop. Do you have another dealer near you? Or an independant Volvo specialist?

Near by there is no Volvo dealer, but I'll call other ones and ask.
I’ll let you know later.

Only 2001+ needs a PIN. Dealer can just download the software and identify the remotes. As long as the remote you have is in good working order, it can be used. You do not need a new one unless the one you have is junk, which is possible.
A reminder, all doors, hood, and trunk need to be closed while programming.

I’m confused. My nearest dealer says he can try, but there is a small chance that it will work, and if it doesn’t I’ll have to pay for it anyway. The cost is about 100$ here! It’s almost the same as for the remote!
I’ll call other dealers in my country and see what they say. I’ll let you know later!
Thanks for help!
Regards,
Rafal

Owned you're right! My dealer just wants to make money on me and sell brand new one. I've spoke to the other dealer and he has confirmed what you said.
Tomorrow I'm going to go to the dealer and see what he's going to made up now.
Thanx to all!

I went to my dealer and told him that I know that he can do this. I was sure of it and finely embarrassed in front of other customers he took my car to a garage and after 3 minutes gave my remote working fine!!!
He told me that he has done this illegal!!

Thank you all for help :-)

Good story.
That's what he gets for trying to cheat you, though.
Glad I could help.
