I recently bought a Escort 8500 X50 radar detector and the cord that it came with is a bit to short. Anyway Escort offers a hardwiring kit, where you tap into the fuse panel (wherever that is) and yeah, much better installation, alot cleaner.

Anyway, two questions............

1. WHERE IS THE FUSE PANEL? Keep in mind I just got the car 3 days ago or so and took a quick look under the dash and didn't see anything? I did see one under the hood near the driver's side windshield, is that it?

2. If the fuse panel is in the engine bay, then does someone know where there is an easy access hole though the firewall with a grommet?

This is for a 2006 VOLVO S40..........

Nevermind, guess it's below the glovebox so no need to worry about this. I'll figure out the rest on my own............
