Hi I,m new to the site.

Has anyone come across a problem of the driveshaft coming out of the gearbox/diff on the V50.

This happened to me last year whilst touring in france, the local dealer in Orlean diagnosed a faulty gearbox (automatic) and wanted to fit a new gearbox, fortunately "Volvo Assistance" stepped in and arranged hire cars to get me to the channel port, brought another hire car over from UK to get me home, arranged for my car to be transported back to UK dealer, who found that a "tired" spilt pin had allowed the drive shaft to slide out a short distance and loose drive.
he fitted a new drive shaft, and eveything has worked fine since.

Fantastic service from both Volvo, and Volvo assistance (RAC France)
