Hi Everyone,

My V50 T5 2005 sport package came with a cargo cover which does not have a handle. I was wondering if everyone owning a V50 has the same situation.

Since there is no hole & handle a lot of times I need to have a good grip and be careful so the cover does not slip and slam back into the case which is extremely annoying.

What is interesting is that the cover has a marking which indicates where the hole should be cut and the handle assembled.

As a response to my complaint Volvo Canada told me that my complaint is legitimate, however, the marking in the cover is made for the US models in case they have to be provided with cargo cover handles which I found extremely unreasonable.

If anyone has a solution regarding the above it would be more than appreciated.

Kind Regards, Rasculatul

If that's any help, the European (Irish) version of the V50 doesn't have a handle either, and there is the same cutout mark ... as this isn't the first year the V50 is out, I suspect it's "by design" ...

PS: I am only taking delivery of my v50 next week, I will go through the "bugs" during the coming weeks ...

My V50 (T5 AWD, U.S. car) w/sport package also has no handle. Yes, you do need
to have grip on it, but it is not that bothersome, I guess you get accustom to it.

What REALLY BOTHERS me is the large size of this retractable cover. It takes up
so much room when you want to fold the seats down, and try it put it to the side.
I really like leaving it at home if I need to move something. They designed that
crazy "storage area" in it and that is the problem. I wish Volvo would offer a smaller cover that is just the retractable cover. My friend has a Subaru Legacy
GT wagon it's "shade" cover has about a 3.5" diameter cover and you can place
it off to the side without taking up space. Volvo really over designed a simple
cover!
