Oooh kayyyy...
Got myself a 1998 V70 T5 through Ebay. 138k on the clock but runs very sweet. Auto, 7 seats, and the sound system... woof! Love it. Apart from the rather hasty fuel guage, of course, even with a light right foot... But the kick of it :-)
. . . . .
Just a few problems. Reckon it needs a new ABS module (ABS/TRACS lights come on) so I'm getting a recon job.
The right-hand (from inside) h/light wiper doesn't wipe (I believe it's awkward to get to that motor), and the driver's door mirror won't motor left/right, plus the memory function on the driver's seat doesn't seem to want to remember. Anyone any ideas on those bits? I'd welcome any observations.
Also, does anyone have any recommendations for independent Volvo servicing in Birmingham (UK)? Apart from the obvious (oil, plugs, etc.) I'm going to have the cambelt and tensioner renewed. Anyone any other suggestions, please?
Oh yes, the only fault the ECU (?) shows is something to do with Lambda, which I believe refers to a discrepancy in the oxygen/fuel ratio. Anyone any clues about what causes that - or what the cure involves?
Also I'd like to find a few minor interior fittings - any good sources known?
Ok, got to go out now. Lots of things to do at home, but for some reason me and the missus want to go for a little drive...

Ohhh kayyyy.... you have been busy, haven't you?!
And here's me just wanting to stop my offside headlight wiper from twitching (even when I haven't operated the wash/wipe) and get my driver's seat to remember where it was last... :P
You know what I enjoy most about my (totally unmodded!) T5?
Pootling around at a leisurely pace, knowing that I could see off most other cars on the road if I put my foot down.
And what I don't like?
Doing just that then realising I've just shot past my turn-off and having to turn round and go back, ending up stuck again behind the plodder I'd just left wayyyy behind in my rear-view.
(I'd still like someone to give me a clue about the seat memory and my twitchy wiper.)
