When I start my car the service light in the bottom right of the panel comes on. After driving for less than a mile it goes off. Any ideas? Should I just go to the dealer? I have a warranty on the car, I've only had it a few months.

Your car is due for maintenance service. Do yourself and your car a favor and make an appointment asap with the dealer.

yea and that behaviour is normal for the service light, it comes on and goes off after a few mins of driving.

Same thing happened to me, although my Ser-vice light came on only 2k miles after I got my 30k service from Volvo in Fife!!!

I was furious thinking WTF did Volvo do??? So when I called them up extremely upset. The tech I spoke with on the phone said they prolly just forgot to reset it and told me to do this.

With the car off "hold the trip meter button"
Then put in your key and set to position 2
Keep the trip meter button pressed until you see the ser-vice light blinking.
Dats it.

That worked like a charm for my 2001 C70 LT...

Seriously though before you go and try this, if you have not done your proper service, DO NOT DO THIS. You own a Volvo now not a freaking Pinto if you want your car to last a long time, then you are going to have to put some effort and money in proper maintenance.
