Hello,
I just brought home my 2006 XC90 and I having problems with the DVD player. The first time I used it worked as described on the 'quick sheet' instructions. The second time we couldn't get it work. The blue screen popped up (powered on ok), but any button I hit the "stop hand" icon appeared. Almost like it's trying to read the disc but it can't. But the funny thing is that it HAS read the disc at least once. What am I doing wrong? Totally frustrated. Owned the car less than 4 hours and I'm already having problems. |

I had problems with the DVD in my brand new XC90 also. It would start to play and then freeze after about 5 minutes. It is in the shop now being replaced. You are probably not doing anything wrong. There are only a couple of options when it comes to buttons to press - play or menu. Hope it works out for you.

Thanks, glad to know I'm not the only one with problems. Major bummer to have to take it in only 1 day into owning it!

I am having the same issue. It will play some dvds, but not others. The other discs that will not play work fine on other car and home dvd players. I am a 1 day owner and not happy to be trolling a forum after 1 day of ownership.

We've had no problems with our DVD system except that we think its WAY TOO HOT after play. Both the DVD and the screens themselves are sometimes HOT to the touch even if its only for 30 minutes or so. Can't be good for it long term, not to mention a chance for a fire hazard maybe??
