My 2004 S60 D5 with geartronic box at 63k miles is returning 49mpg. Don't tend to hang about with the car. I'm happy with that!

Just bought my first Volvo S60 24T 2003 with 27,000 miles on it. Getting around
21-24 in town and average around 31 on the highway but have got as good as
36 with the cruise on at 70 mph.

2003 S60 sedan (non -turbo) manual tranny

I get about 330 - 360 in mixed driving on a single fill-up of 14.6 gallons which works to be about 22 -- 25 MPG on regular gas (89)

Has anyone else experienced this? My 2002 S80 T6 trip computer calculates my mpg is actually higher by 1mpg +/- than if I manually compute at a fillup. I feel hoodwinked. I can understand an error smaller than this but telling me I'm getting a higher gas mileage than I am truly getting is just wrong! I reset my trip computer after each fill up along with one of my trip odometers. Please, others reset your trip odometer, fill up, burn a tank, fill up again and check your mileage compared to fuel burned and compare to your trip computer. Any noticable difference?....

If the trip computer can be recalulated would it be covered under warranty?

KEN S80 T6

I posted this a few weeks back on the S80 site but got no responses. How about the S60 is the trip calculator accurate in your vehicle? If not, how inaccurate is it?

Just curious...

I get 25 mpg in combination of town/country. On the open road I have gotten about 28 mpg.

I get about 25 mpg on average from my 01' T5.
My commute is about 20 miles which is about half city and half freeway.
But this hot humid Texas weather is killing my fuel economy.
Turbos and hot humid air definitely don't go hand in hand.

At around 80k miles took the family on a vacation. 4 of us in the car with luggage for a week in the trunk. I got 33.9 mpg on 2 lane roads driving 65-70. My wife drove home, interstate the whole way, 34 mpg. I have switched to midgrade fuel with no change in performance or any problems with engine. Now have 110k and still getting 28 around town.

I keep reading the additional posts to this thread and feel disappointed at the milage I get out of my 2.0l petrol.

Then I have to remind myself that a US gallon is different to a UK gallon - forgive me if I get this the wrong way round but a US gallon is about 20% more than a UK gallon
1 UK gallon = 1.2 US gallon.
So the US milage always seems a lot higher - I get around 24mpg around town and around 34 on the motorway.
Not sure if thats good or bad though

we bought a 2005 T5 with 52500 miles a few weeks ago and over the 2500 miles we drove it so far (about 20% city, 60%highway, 20%in between) we average between 28 and 29 mpg. i am very pleased with that :) - highway speed is always around 78 miles per hour. last weekend we took a trip up the coast here in california and drove 800 miles, all between an elevation of 6000 and 15 feet - average was 28.8 on this trip. it is always quite an improvement when traveling in lower altitude.

I've got a 2001 S60 non T, and I'm getting about 26-27 MPG in mixed highway/backroads driving. It has gone down since I put Michelin Pilot Exaltos on the car. Sticks better, but rolling resistance must be higher. New plugs didn't help at all.

2001 S60 2.4T - 85,000 miles, Premium 92 oct

Used to drive like a manic (80 - 90 on the highway and fast accels/passing) and got average 23 mpg, now drive more carefully and obey the speed limit, instantly getting 30 mpg. 27% savings just by driving better! Additional 130 miles per tank!
