Hi, I am from USA and I am about to purchase a new 2006 V50 2.4i with both Selected and Climate packages from my local dealer for the final price of $26,500. I am going to accept the offer but I am not so sure if I should or need to purchase an Volvo extended warranty (increased protection plan) on the new car?

The same dealer quoted me the standard warranty cover 4 years/50,000 miles, and the extended warranty cover additional 3 years/30,000 miles? for the cost of $2,600. Is this too expensive? Its almost 10% of my purchase price. Please advise. thanks.

the guy i bought my car from in denver offered me the extended warranty for $2000. i didn't buy it -- he offered to sell it to me later on down the line if i'm still interested.
