I'm applying the letters to the back of my C70, they were removed to paint. Actually had to buy them new. Anyway, I misplaced 1 letter so it's crooked now. But that adhesive is so strong, that I couldnt just pull the letter off again to adjust it.

Does anyone know a safe way to get this done? I dont want to ruin the paint OR the adhesive cuz I still need to reapply the letter. Thanks in advance

I dont think u can save the adheasive. I guess anything is possible, but its prob easier to just remove the letter, and go to a harware store for adheasive. Then u can cut it to fit the letter.

if you can get the thin license plate sticky tabs then you can cut them down to shape.

I normally use kerosene, bought off the shelf at your local hardwares to dissolve/soften the adhesives... (Safe on paint)

This one is. I do not remember the brand though. It is normally off the shelves, and the words "SAFE ON PAINT" are very clearly printed on the label.

How they do it is that the content of kerosene is mild enough to not affect paint, while at the same time, strong enough to loosen adhesives like stickers etc.

It's not like brake fluid:- Drop a tear on your paint, and say bye-bye to your coating.

Don't know if this is still a live topic, but when I've debadged before, I used a hair dryer to losen the adhesive, then some dental floss to get it off the bodywork. If it won't shift using that method, I use an old credit card to level it off - again after the badge has been heated using a hair dryer.

Once it's off, I've used some tar and bug remover to get rid of any remaining adhesive left on the paint.

As far as the adhesive is concerned, i found that using 3M's Red double-sided tapes the best. It sticks REALLY hard...

Try "Goof Offf' or WD 40. once the badge comes off, let it dry for a day or so then use gorilla glue, if you want it permanently attached, or double sided tape. All the ways that have been suggested are all good. just pick i guess.
