My friend has a W reg 2000 S40 1.6 S and he has recently taken the seats out and replaced the foam seat units under the covers with a pair from a 2001 s40 which had the heated elements attached to the and has put all the switches in etc. H e was very careful when removin gthem but now the air bag warning light is onn all the time??? Does he need to get a Volvo techy to reset them or something ???

Tech have you got any ideas??

If he had turned the key on for any reason while the seats were out that would set a code for the SRS and it will have to be cleared.It is also possible that there is something wrong in the seat or seatbelt system.Have the codes checked as long as it isn't a permanant fault it can just be cleared and there shouldn't be a problem.
