I love everything about my new Volvo V50 except the navigation system.

It's not the best UI, but getting past that it continues to direct me off course and on several trips, completely lost!!!!

I have contacted Volvo and all they can tell me is that I have the latest software available and it is working the way it should. To me this is completely unacceptable.

Is anyone else finding the navigation system completely useless?

I am furious since I ordered the car to get the navigation included.

You are right. Just got my brand new 07 V70 D5 summum with integrated RTI Navi and it simply sucks.

Car is great, but navi is crap. It is very old fashion, maps are inaccurate, prosessing is WAY to slow, coverage is very poor, functions like poi's are almost not there.

I called Volvo and complained and all they could say was that is a new dvd-kit out soon, and that I could not expect a car manufacturer to be in front of development of electronics. I expect MUCH more of a car in this pricerange.

The new dvd set is scheduled for december, and it is bloody expensive. The update dvd's is about the same price as a brand new tomtom navigation system. And tomtom is a great tool, Volvo RTI is a rip-off.

My only gripe with it is the lack of post code searching.
