I found a selution. At the back of the in the boot on the left hand side their is a Audio Unit. All you need to do is use a hornet ( a hornet is a plug full of wires that you plug into a unit without disturbing the cars wires) then you connect your bluetooth unit onto the hornet wires.....and whalla!!. The system now mutes and you can hear the guys talking thru your car speakers.

Very cool BBJ!!!

Although I'm not always sure of what I'm looking at :P
Is that the Audio unit you were talking about on my post:

http://www.volvo-forums.com/t7019-s40t5-so...tem-upgrade.htm

How about the wires/connectors. Are these custom?
Was it a lot of work to run the wires to the front for the blue tooth phone receiver/transmeter?

Do you know how does the mute action work with the audio system? Can you use the steering wheel volume? Is it coming only on the right speaker because most phones are mono?

Good job

Greg

Gregoire, This cable I use or (loom) is specially designed so that you can use your bluetooth kit with the car's system without having an external speaker in your car that comes with the bluetooth kit or by any means touched the cars current wires. In short your audio system can mute your volume of your car and your speakers becomes active.

All you have to do is to connect the (loom) to the Audio module at the back of the car and connect your bluetooth kit to the (loom). Meaning you have to pull your own wires thru from the front of the car to the back where the audio module is located for the bluetooth kit to be connected. The button on the front that comes with the kit is to control volume and also to pickup a call.

What now happens is that while your volume is high on your car's system and you receive a call the bluetooth kit automaticly mute your audio system and you can pick up the call with the button on the dash and you can now hear the poeple talk to you thru your car audio system.

No volume adjustments on your stearing wheel and also no display on your center console. I hope it makes sence or maybe I confuse you even more. See the last picture for the audio module at the back of your car. If you stand at the back of your car it is located on your left hand side.

BBJ,

Thanks for the additional info. This clarify things quite well. I like the back door open showing how you need to run cables to the front which must be the most time consuming part

Hey on a complete different subjet I noticed your ignition key...is that what you got when purchasing your care? It's quite different from anything I'v seen for this car.

It is the key-less entry of my car. You can have the key in your pocket and still be able to open and start the car without a key needed to be in the ignition. When you leave the car you press a button on the door handle and it locks automaticly.

If you have two key's one for your wife and one for you the car automaticly open and adjust the seat of the person that enter the car first.
