Hi
I have just bought a HU 603 to replace the HU 403 in my P2 V70. I have installed it and it works fine except for:-
Steering wheel buttons no longer work
Backlights do not work in stereo

I guess it needs a software update to configure it to work properly. Anyone know any part numbers or approx cost?

I am just about to upgrade my HU-403 with HU-603 that i bought from breakers. I asked my local dealership who said that this would not work. But when i spoke to the technician he said it would prob work ok, the only prob would be that if there was a future fault on the car it would show an overload of faults codes due to the radio being changed. He said that would be able to put the old radio (HU-403) back in reset faults and re-check system. Think I am happy with that. I will let you know how i get on with this one !!!

Apparently each volvo radio is unique to each car and is locked into the cars electric modules (or something like that) nyway it arrives tommoz. Will update you.

Did your upgrade work?
I'm thinking of putting a HU 803 in as a replacement for my HU 403.
Not sure if it will work as I think I might need a seperate power amp.

If not , how easy is it to get the unit out to put an after market one in?

Any advice would be good.
