Hello to everyone from San Antonio Texas. I just took delivery of a 2006 XC90 T5 FWD about a week ago and my wife loves the car. We are already having pasenger side door lock problems. When you use the key fob the pasenger door lock will not respond. Also when this happens the outside temperature gauge is blank and the window will not go up or down. We get about a mile or 2 down the road and the outside temperature gauge will now come on and the passenger door and window will now work.

I plan to take it back to the dealer to have it looked into but thought I would give the forum a shot.

THANKS

The passenger doorlock responds only to the second rapid press of the keyfob, you may need to experiment to get the hang of this.

On 05/18/2006 we took our XC90 back to the dealer so that they could determine what the problem was with the door looks. It is not the key fob or how we use it but an actual problem on the XC90 in general. The response I got today from the dealer is that they would like to keep it intil next Tuesday so that a factory Representative can take a look at it. They say that they have been getting a lot of these door lock problems on the XC90 and want to solve it. <_<

Took delivery of an XC90 T5 in Sept 05, and don't have a problem with the doors. However has had a distant sounding "whinning dog" that keeps recurring in a pattern,
" Grrrrr Woof Woof Woof , Repeated ad nauseum .... coming from behind the dashboard etc. Took it back to the dealer to be told it was an actuator motor for the interior air flow distribution which keeps adjusting its position. The chief mechanic reprogrammed it and it seemed to settle for a few weeks , but it is back , though it often settles after 5- 10 minutes of driving. Anyone with similar problems ?

:) The dealer has fixed our door lock problem. It was something they call a door lock actuator. I asked how does that effect the outside temperature gauge. Their response was that it just does. In any case the problem is solved. We both love the SUV. We used to own a 2003 Ford Expedition that got at best 17 miles to the gallon on the highway. We are getting 23 miles per gallon now and hope to get better once the engine gets broke in. :liebe011:
