1983 Dodge 400(a.k.a. "K" car) Gold 2 door with a Brown 1/2 leather top. My step-mother got it when her father died and she gave it to me. Man I hated that car! It was such a p.o.s. and I did my best to kill it but it would not die!

Technically, I just bought my first car, a 2001 S60. I've been driving a series of Subaru Outbacks that have been in my family previously. I've sat back and watched most of my friends spend their money on cars that they have had to constantly fix and all the while have waited until I got enough to buy something a bit more solid. We'll see how it works out.......

Should have left some bread at the back overnight.

1979 mini van. As i type this i look up to its front number plate which is on the wall by the computer. 50,000 miles in 2 and a half years before some tipsy rep rear ended me and split the rear subframe.

Once gave this girl i knew a ride round the block in it and got to know her real well in that small van  18 years later and im still married to her

First cars often become a part of the owners life that he/she could never imagin when they first see it. :amen:

My first love was motorcycles & the first engine I ever stripped down to its component parts (not many of them!) was a 50cc Yamaha 2 stroke. Good practice & despite having a bolt left over, it ran better than ever until I sold it & moved on to bigger, much more powerful bikes.

First car was a used 1973 Mk I Ford Escort with an 1100cc pushrod engine. stripped engine down & rebuilt it, no bits left over this time, & sold it a year later to a car mechanic who couldn't find a single thing wrong with it & paid the full asking price without batting an eyelid.

Several cars later, moved on to a 340, then a 440 & now the V40.

Actually it was a P-1800S 1968. This was in the begin of the 80’s just when the interest began to sour in Europe for it. It was in working condition and I did some 10,000km before taking it apart for a restoration. The electrics was a concern I remember: All of a sudden the headlights could go out in the middle of the night on a B-road. Nothing a paper-clip couldn't fix though. I went off to university, and the project was never really fully finished.

The poor sod stood in my father’s barn for 15 years before it was sold to somebody who thought it was just a matter of taking out the spanners for a weekend or two to get it on the wheels. Last thing I heard, was that it had ended up somewhere in Germany. I hope it got a good home eventually. Oh – what a car…

A yellow AMC (remember them?) Pacer. This was before Wayne's World and when they were semi-mod. I was 18 and in the Army and had the car given to me. It was priced right.

The first car I ever bought was an AMC Renault. What a junker. Lasted to about 55K miles and then died. Kind of like the "disposable lighters" of cars.

I love my Volvo (switched up from a Saab convert.)

A bit shameful but it was a Ford Orion 1.6L in Rosso Red, reg F278 MLE (hence Emily). I loved it at the time :-) But the job I was in involved a lot of driving around while not concentrating and she got dinged up really badly!

This was back in 1990.
