Hi Everyone! I bought an 06 S40 in black yesterday. I am SOO excited and happy about this purchase.
So, my salesman (who was awesome) told me that the S40 would have Sirius capability "In a couple of months" - and I've searched the forum and come up with the same vague descriptions. Q2-ish? Does anyone have any more info about this? Sirius is running a special right now - existing customers can get a free Starmate with adding an additional subscription. This seems ideal since I left my old Audiovox unit in my trade in, though a) my sales dude recommended me not to get a unit since Sirius will be here sometime soon and B ) I can't figure out where to mount it. What do you guys think? |

i`ve been wondering the same questions untill i finally got a answer & your going to have to buy a reciver that stands alone cause they dont make on for our cars yet that work thur the radio what you will need is a reciver & a fm modulater the mod. is for the sound to come though the radio when its in pick a station & go thats how its in the vovlo & its in my 03-cobra vert also

As of the 2006 model s40 there is no input on the stereo. There may be an input on future models. For the 2006 and earlier, you have to use an FM modulator or do some serious modifications to your stereo that will void the warranty on your vehicle.

Hey eskimonamedjebus more detail pleaseeeee... How did you do it? What did you use?... I think it's very cool but I like the S40 consol so much that I always find to be ashame and a bit of a waste to have to add anything to it. Haaa if only they did it right the first time! Greg |

Thank you for the info!
I actually emailed customer service and asked about availability - they responded that it would be available on 2007 models, but there is no retrofit planned so far. I guess I'm getting a Starmate! |
