Hi,

I have just bought an HU 803 radio and centre speaker for my car 2001 V70 and having removed my HU613 unit I notice I have a green, one large grey and one small grey connector in the rear . The HU803 has only the green connector and smaller grey connector?

Do I need any additional wiring loom bits etc or will it plug in without the grey connector and work? I don't want to try it and fry anything?

I've replaced my 613 also by an 803
It is correct that the 803 has less connections on the backside.
The reason is that the 803 has no amplier built in. So there is no place for speaker connection.
You will need the PA 200 (4x50wats) or PA 300(4x75 watts). I've got the PA 300, it gives a realy lot of noise!!!!!!!
The amplier can be built in under the passenger seat. your car has screw-holes for it and the power-cable will probably also lying there. All you need to do is to put an extra fuse in the fusebox.
you can connect the HU 803 to the amplier with a special cable. One of the two round connectors of the 803 is used for that.( the other one is for an Ipod-adapter or CD-changer)
You connect your speakers with a special cable to the amplier.

All connections are simple when you have the right cables. There is only one solution.

You can meet some new problems after installation:
the radio doesn't work at all
the radio has no light arount the knobs
the steering-wheel knobs doesn't work.

These problems can occoure when your car does not match up with the radio.
reprogramming at the dealer can sort some problems out, but not all. When your radio is from an other generation as the car you will have some problems.
I did swich my HU803 after consulting the dealer.
