Hi, this is my 1st post. I'm thinking of buying a 2006 Volvo S40 T5. I live in Dominican Republic where the speed limit is supposed to be 120km/h and last weekend I was doing 200km/h in my Grandma's 2003 S40 2.0 SE and I got ****** cause a BMW 325i passed beside me like if I was doing only 100km/h and I got ******.
Also cops don't care, I've been driving for 4 years now and I still haven't been pulled over for speeding, in fact, I cant recall seeing a highway cop in that time. So if you see, what I'm trying to say is that speed is not a problem. Now my question are of the turbo on the T5. What's the pressure it brings, is it possible for me to upgrade it for more pressure, how much time can I step the pedal to full speed without breaking the turbo or engine or both and is there a Blowoff valve compatible with that turbo??? THANK YOU!!! Oh also, manual or auto AWD or FWD |

ok ok thats a lot of questions... i'm not extremely experienced with all the technical terms and/or i haven't tested the car enough to tell you. but what i CAN tell you is my brother owns a 2005 Volvo s40 t5 with the sports package (sports suspension, rims, spoiler, skirts, and the like) Let me tell you that that car has a lot of punch. if you are looking for a stable and quick car with good gas milage, then this is the car. torque kicks in as low as 2000 rpms i believe (although i have read articles saying torque is present at 1500 rpms) the volvo s40 t5 can also turn on a dime. its a great car. only thing is the tricky shifting. the clutch is very unforgiving. there is only a small "perfect launch" area but once mastered, the driving experience greatly outweighs anything else life can throw at you. its a GREAT buy! as regards to the upgrading... the s40 is their main car at this point with the majority of sales going for that car. upgrading will not be a problem.. good luck with what you decide!
