| Problems With Immobilizer |

I am a new member to the forum, I have had my 06 S40 T-5 for about 8 months. Really like it, but today when I tried to start it up, I got the error message: immobilizer, see manual. There is no info in the manual to help though.
Anyone out there have this problem? Thanks in advance for your help. DBGeo |

Did it start after that?
Try turning the key 180 and trying again. Then I would take it to the Dealer and have them look at it. |

No it never did start. I tried it several times over the course of about 8 hours. Always the same result. Going to be pretty tough to take it to the dealer if it doesn't start.

Thanks for the info. I've contacted Volvo on call, and they have just towed it away to the dealer. It is pretty sad that they and I have to go through all this probably because of a software glitch. You'd think there would be a way to by-pass the immobilizer in some fashion, or down load the software fix.

The latest update on my situation is this. The dealer has had the car for a week and it is still not fixed. They say they are waiting on rivets to install a new steering column, which has to be removed to replace the ignition switch. I'm not sure they have a clue about what they are doing.
Does anyone out there have any info on this issue to help me out? Thanks |
