Hello all,
When my 1985 volvo 244GL gets going around 45 in 3rd and 55 in 4th I get some really extreme vibrations.

These only appear when I am giving it gas and disappears once I stop giving it gas and when the clutch is in.

It seems to me to be coming from the back right area buts so hard to be sure...My wheels are in pretty good shape. The bolts are on tight. My muffler squeks abit but I can still hear it and its still clamped / held perfectly.

Any ideas?

Thank you so much - Jutboy

Do you ever smell a burning rubber sent? If the center support bearing for the driveshaft is bad enough you might smell it if it vibrates long enough.

Still might be the centre bearing starting to go. See if you can visually check it by looking under the car and above the metal plate that is aprox 5 to 6 inches wide, and about midpoint in the car. The bearing is right above that. If it looks to be beat up, or very worn, that is probably the problem.
