Hello s40 Owners and Audiophiles:
I am going to start to really play with the audio settings tonight in my 2006 Volvo s40. I have played with the basics slightly but I have not adjusted the equalizers for the front and rear yet. I do have the Premium Dolby Sound system, but no sub-woofer at this point. I was wondering what you have yours set at and if you have any suggestions before I start playing tonight. Let me know what all your settings are and the type of music you listen to... Here is a little guide to help you label BASICS BASS(+/-) TREBLE(+/-) BALANCE(+/-) FADER(+/-) CENTER(+/-) SURROUND(+/-) Equalizer Front 60 Hz(+/-) 200 Hz(+/-) 800 Hz(+/-) 3 kHz(+/-) 12 kHz(+/-) Equalizer Rear 60 Hz(+/-) 200 Hz(+/-) 800 Hz(+/-) 3 kHz(+/-) 12 kHz(+/-) Let me know how many clicks off center each of your setting are... Please take a minute and help me out...I will also be taking pics to post tonight. I have been researching mods, but only have 1 so far...I just put Silver 18" RS Limted MASE wheels on my s40...so check back tomorrow and I will have them up... Thanks in advance! |

I got the sub in my T5 and I am playing everything dead flat. That is the best way in my opnion, dont enhance any frequencies.

I mess with my EQ so much, I dont even know where it is right now. I know I leave it pretty stock in front and give it a low boost in the back. If I am listening to Pink Floyd, I will give it some more mid in the front.

The volvo audio needs eq tuning, of course.
Flat EQ is bad here because we hear more the mid frequencies and the tweeters in the S40 is not premium quality. Best configuration is: BASICS BASS(+/-) : 60% TREBLE(+/-) 100% BALANCE(+/-) center FADER(+/-) center CENTER(+/-) center SURROUND(+/-) center In EQ, lets say we use +5 to -5 Equalizer Front 60 Hz(+/-) +2 200 Hz(+/-) 0 800 Hz(+/-) -1 3 kHz(+/-) +1 12 kHz(+/-) +5 Equalizer Rear (same as front) 60 Hz(+/-) 200 Hz(+/-) 800 Hz(+/-) 3 kHz(+/-) 12 kHz(+/-) Audio is ok, but tweeters do not respond to 15khz or more. Subwoofer (original) is required for better audio presence. regards AGP |
