http://www.3barracing.com/product_6.htm

in the above link they offer the hybrid boost controller. i have several questions about these little things....

1. will i need two considering the t6 has twin turbos
2. how do i control the boost since there not digital
3. how much hp can i plan to gain (i dont want to push the limits of my turbos just make them work harder)
4. how do i install a gauge since my t6 does not already have a boost gauge

thanks alot i greatly appreciate all your help

I've never seen one like that before. There is no way to actually control it. Unless I missed it, how much boost is it actually giving u. And there appears to be no way to adjust it.

Wheather it is digital or manual, a boost contriller will have a control module in the passenger compartment that u....well....control.

Additionally, on newer Volvos, many people do not recommend boost controllers. They do not integrate well with the amount of electronics.

I am not a pro in this, but as mentioned in the link provided by S60R, using boost controllers on older models should be fine. In fact, desired. However, in newer cars, the ECU functions may get 'confused' or something...

For a digital boost controller, the 'controlling' device MAY (I say MAY cos some people still put it in the engine-bay. For obvious reasons to hide it from the police or the road-transport authorities in their place) be put in the cabin.

For a manual boost controller, typically the 'controlling' mechanism is located on the boost controller itself. You normally twist or turn the head: it depends on the design. If I can get a photo of the MBC, i will try put it up.

Manual Boost Controllers are the cheaper versions of the above, and requires a lot of skills to set. While installing is easy, the tuning of the boost opening requires some hard-driving and attention to details. Typically why most people let the technicians handle it.

Setting the boost enough to not have boost-spikes is one issue to ensure the longevity of your turbo unit.
