Has anyone ever done a clutch in one of these? My wife's is just about done and I'm trying to beat it to the punch. I've seen a thread on another site that said the engine, tranny, subframe and everything had to be pulled; I have a hard time believing Volvo would design anything that poorly. Thanks for any help

Removing the engine & tranny does give the best access, but according to the Haynes manual (# 1691) the clutch can be changed by only partially removing the transmission. You can bet that a garage will use the latter method as they will have all the right tools & experience plus, of course, it's quicker for them to leave the engine in the car.

Don't blame Volvo - I believe it's actually a Renault engine & gearbox.

Good luck.

Thanks, I'd appreciate all the help you could give. I need to go out and get the Haynes' manual, but any advice is good advice.
