Hi I will be doing lots of work on my 440 over the next year and one of the jobs is to see if I can fit remote central locking and decent alarm. One thing I do know is that there is no central locking motor on the driver’s door.

Ideally I would like some recommendations’ of some companies that could do the work for me, any info would be great.

I looked in to this, there are generally 3 possibly 5 options (may be others but these are what i looked in to)

1) look up yellow pages for car alarm fitters (a good one who does cat 1 alarms), give them a ring and they should be able to quote you for central locking and alarm fitted, (can be very expensive)

2) DIY buy a generic kit and either fit alarm yourself or pay someone, (less cost due to already having central locking on car - although rear doors are harder to attatch the central locking pumps to - check before buying kit)

3) DIY strip out central locking from an existing 440, refit in to yours, (fine aslong as you know it all works properly, then, either fit alarm yourself or pay someone, (less cost due to already having central locking on car)

4) Just do the alarm,

5) Or don't bother!!

Hope this helps.
