Hi all,
I have recently developed a problem with my immobiliser on my 96 440 1.6si. After a run the immobiliser refuses to deactivate, even though the key fob and central locking appears to working normally. If i leave the car for 10-20 imns to cool down the immobiliser will deactivate normally.
I have been putting up with it for a few days but today the stakes were raised. I have just done a short run into town and back and now the car will not start even afer an hour.
I have read that there is a way that the dealer can electronically bypass the immobiliser as £296+VAT for a new immobiliser ECU is very steep for a 10yr old car.
Any thoughts or advise would be very welcome.
