This is my first ever brand new car, my 2 prevous cars were both used, a VW Golf and a VW Jetta.

My question is, how should I drive the car during the break-in period. Should I keep RPMs to a certain level or just let it rip.

Many thanks....

I've not found anywhere in the owner's manual stating not to rev the engine during break-in. So I guess the engineers at Volvo have already taken care of break-in for us. Besides, by judging the lengthy 20000km required for the first required service and oil change, I'd say break-in is not necessary. Rev-it-up!

Thanks.. I just picked it up, I didn't even push the needle past 100 Km/hr.. I'm being a little wuss, first new car I guess. I'll make sure the ride home from work is much quicker...

Cheers!!
