hi all.

just purchased an 06 s40i. the salesman arranged for me to have sirius installed but called me today before i picked up the car and told me that it would be better to get it installed at best buy (the FM transmitter). to make a long story short, i have read that sirius will soon be available.

will i be able to upgrade to satellite without purchasing a new radio? will it be as easy as downloading software?

The short answer is no. Have Volvo install it. You cannot purchase a "new" radio for the S40...there is only one that will work with the system and it is pretty darn proprietary.
