Okay…I am thouroughly confused now and I need immediate advice. Over the weekend I purchased a set of 18" RSL Mase Wheels with a 42mm offset. http://www.rslwheels.com/wheels/?sfID1=12&sfID2=220 . These are the wheels that I bought. Now I have a 2006 Volvo s40 2.4i that I am planning to mount these on over this coming weekend. The tires I am looking to purchase will be size 225/40r18s. I am not worried about the diameter clearance because it is not differenct at all, however I am worried about going from a 205 tire width to a 225 tire width. Does anyone have experience with this size tire? Do you forsee a problem with this? The wheels have been ordered and are on the way, however I have not bought the tires yet and wanted to make sure before purchasing. The guy at tire rack said that I would want to make sure that this will clear so I wanted to check with you guys. Let me know as soon as possible.

A (knowledgeable) Volvo dealer would be able to tell u for sure if there is a prob with that width. My guess is it wouldnt be a prob, maybe some rubbing when u turn the wheel all the way.
20mm = a little over 3/4" |
