Greetings!

For the second time, the cable on my parking/emergency brake has come loose. I took my XC90 2.5T to Volvo and after 3 hours, they had re-attached the cable. It has now come off again and as a result, the parking/emergency brake is rendered useless.

Does anyone know what is going on? Is it bad service or is it just a badly designed attachment device? Of course it is covered under warranty and I will have it taken care of but I don't understand the mechanics of it. Is there anyone on the Forum from Volvo service or anyone who has an idea as to what is going on?

Thanks

Jonathan

So I am replying to my own post!

But to update the XC9o Parking/emergency brake issue. My XC90 was at the dealership for a week, They provided a loaner. Apparantly there has been some sort of re-design of the internals of the mechanism. They rebuilt the entire unit with all new, updated parts with the exception of the foot pedal. I picked the vehicle up today and it works perfectly!

I guess either there arent too many XC90 owners here, or no one else had the prob :)

Anyway, out of curiosity, was it a recall or they just replaced the whole thing because it reoccurred?

According to Volvo there was no recal. They replaced the entire unit to make sure that it would not happen again.Perhaps theywere just tired from seeing me!

Best
