Sounds like you have missed something,
I would make sure all earth straps have been bolted back to the engine and the body of the car, check for any vacum pipes which you may have pulled off, and check that all wiring is connect to the correct sockets and that the pins in the plugs are clean and make a good connection.

Make sure you go over everything again, cos when you find it you gonna say "dam how could i have missed that". :57:

Hi everyone just to let you know that i have double checked everything but still to no avail,am now considering breaking it up as i now don't have a clue (the only thing i have not tried is the ecu!),i'll give it a couple of more attempts so any suggestions please post as it's a nice motor otherwise.Could the starter motor wiring effect it in any way? as this is the only thing i have not pulled apart yet........cheers john
