I have an xc90 with rear seat entertainment system. I currently live in the US, but will export the car to Europe. I would like to know whether anyone knows how to make the dvd player region-free so that I can play both US and European dvds.

If you have a computer with a dvd recorder in it you can buy sofware to copy your original dvds and then burn them to a disk--they will be region free and copy protected free.. I use any dvd and clone dvd from www.slysoft.com works wonders

My RSE DVD player in my new V70 was set to region 1 on delivery. Living in Europe (region 2) I needed a fix. Dealer has now changed it to region 2 (but would not tell me how to do it) and said you only get 6 changes before it locks up completely and must be replaced. I assume this is a firmware setting.

Surely there must be a way of playing all regions on this player (or at least resetting the 6 chances).

Any ideas ?
