Hi,

My mechanic recently did some repairs on my tail lights. In doing so he needed to figure out which fuse was for the tail light. In doing so he pulled each fuse until he figured out which one he was looking for. One of the fuses he pulled before finding the correct fuse was for the stereo and now I need to enter an anti theft stereo code.

Can anyone tell me how to obtain the stereo code? My mechanic told me to give him my vin number and he could get it for me, but he has not returned any of my calls.

thanks,
Dan

I had the same problem. Find a Volvo dealer, the codes are in their database. Take proof of ownership, although they didn't ask to see any.

PS why did your mechanic do this? Fuse locations are documented in the manual, or in service books etc... get a new mechanic!

I recently purchased a used 940 and the radio indicated I needed to enter the code. It was my good fortune to find it written on a card that said "do not loose this card" or something like that and it had a 4 digit code on it. Put it in and there was the "Sound of Music".....rock that is. Check your owners manual, you might get lucky.
