I want to replace the standard-fit radio in my '93 850 GLT saloon with something that does RDS/EON and plays CDs. It is probably going to be a Panasonic CQC1301 - does what I want and has green back-lit buttons &c so is roughly in keeping with the dash. I know I need a ISO/Volvo adapter and have got that but have discovered that my car has an amp plugged into the back of the existing radio. The ISO cable apparently needs to plug into the amp direct as there is no aftermarket adapter (I'm told) for the existing amp cable to plug into the back of an after-market unit. Can anyone give me any suggestions as to where to look for the amp and what it will look like. I could dismantle the dash bit by bit until I find the destination of the existing amp cable but ...

Hi, dont know if you have found the amp but if you slide the stereo unit out and take off the panel that is above the pedels there is a little black box with a whole lot of wires going into it (thats the amp) its quite far back in there so good luck to getting into to it!!
