Hi there this is my first time! Any how, I got given a 1991 volvo 440 1.7GLEi by a neighbour, as he needed the space in his garden, last tuesday it past it's MOT!

But just before it went in for it's MOT I was ajusting the wing mirror (electric) and bzzz. Now no electric windows or mirrors. Now i don't hav the manuel and was wondering if anyone could tell me were the fuse box is as i've checked under cubby box thing and it's not a loose conection.

HELP!

Thanks

Tilt the ash tray back and it will come out, look in the rectanglular hole and you will see the fuse block. Good luck.

Have you checked under the Hood (U.S. talk) I think it might be there at the bottom of the windsheild.

Hi Joosler.

My guess is fuse no. 17 (15 amp). Sounds like the mirror mechanism is jammed or there is a fault in the circuit, so don't be surprised if the new fuse blows too!

As always Tech is spot-on. The fusebox is the triangular black plastic jobby under the bonnet, on the driver's side below the windscreen.

Hope you get it sorted soon.

By the way, if you're interested there's a UK meet on 18th - see Regional forum - Europe - UK subforum.

On the topic of fuse box locations. Does any one know where I can find a picture of the fuse ans relay layout?
The pice of paper has come off of the box in my engine bay.

You need Haynes manual no. 1691, Chapter 12 - gives the number & rating of every fuse.

Regards.

I have this book. the problem is that it has a picture on page 12 (picture 3.4)
of what I am looking for but it is to small for me to read.
It is what shows the location for for the relays and fuses and what they are for.
The problem I am chasing is that my battery is being drained while my car is turned off...... I know that there are three relays that are energized while the car is turned off but I need to know what they are for.
It will be a much easier job if I know what they are for then to trace the wires back to where they go.

The "Key to wiring diagrams" gives help with which relay is where & the wiring diagrams themselves show the position of the relay for the circuit concerned.

I'll be away from the forum until at least 20th July - hope the above helps.
