 Okay, under the hood of my car, the color reads 189/White. There are scuff marks on the front of my bumper, cuz it's white and anything that touches her is going to make these marks. Thus, I am exercising the right to NOT repaint the car or even the bumper.

It was suggested to me to go to a local Sherwin-Williams Automotive Paint Supply, give them the number and have them mix me up a can. Or, go to the dealer and get 2 cans of the spray form.

Anyone have any experience with this? Any input or tips would be great!!

To tell you the truth I haven't looked at the front end of a 960, I'm not sure if the material it's made of is different than the 940 front bumper cover. Are the scuff marks deep breaking the paint surface or on top of the surface, can rubbing/polishing compound remove the black marks.

But many bumper covers are molded with a composite material that will flex when hit, you know the Feds mandate that the front end has to take a XXX mph hit without taking damage. The first person I would talk to is a friendly auto body tech to determine if paint for the body will be work on a composite bumper. The paint supplier can certainly mix the paint and I'm quite sure they can put it in spray can for you.

If you don't know a friendly auto body tech, I have a friend that does body work that I can check with....

 Wedwagon,
Thanks for the reply and interest. Seriously, I would stay away from any auto body shop, because they are going to want me to repaint the whole car. Could you check with your friendly auto paint body buddy.

Maybe later today, I will post some pics of what I am talking about and you can better confer.

Michele

Michele,

I checked with my friendly auto body tech this afternoon. He works at a Chevrolet dealership during the day, out of his garage at night and on weekends. He said that repainting a front bumper should not cost more than $200.00 in a shop. The urathane (correct spelling?) paint used today is some what flexable, but the people that mix the paint can add a flex addative for painting something like a composite bumper. They can, put the urathane paint in a spray can. This guy does really good work, if you want to drive your car to New Hampshire I'll give you his number. Please do send some pictures.
