My 1999 S80 T6 with 72k miles has recently developed an oil leak. No engine problems, it's running great, no noises --- nothing. Just a leak. Hard to tell where its coming from. Drain plug is fine. Maybe the oil pan O-rings? Any one know how to tell for sure where it's leaking.

Hey there, when i first bought my t6 it had an oil leak. I hope your problem is just the o-rings becuase mine was the oil return lines to the turbos.... thats not easy on the wallet... parts were like 20 dollars or so and the 5 hours of labor just to get to the return lines was $$$ hope yours isnt that

my leak was from the PCV box, had to change the seal and the dipsitck cost around 250 all in.

If you have any mechanic ability at all, should be not problem. On a scale from 1 to 10 with 10 being the most dificult, I would give replace the PCV and oring a 7 OMO. The PCV box is Volvo's version of a PCV valve. Most of these leak from the PCV oring behind the PCV box. If you do it yourself you will need one special tool. A 90 degree bent wrench, I can't remember what size though. The wrench is for one bolt on the PCV that is very hard to get to. If you do some searches, you could probably find a picture of this wrench. If you do it remember, this PCV box and oring is under the intake manifold, which you will have to take off so be sure to get a intake gasket also. I cleaned my ETM while I had the intake off too, runs great for now. Good luck man! :57:

Interested in how you got on taking the ETM out. What did you need to remove first? The intake? radiator fan? Any tips on this would be good. I guy sent me the Volvo instructions but they dont mention either of these?
