I'm actually trying to find step-by-step instructions for the removal of an HU-603 head unit from a 2002 S60. I want to hardwire my Sirius satellite radio to the car. I have purchased all of the antenna adapters, etc. and I'm ready to go, but I started to remove unit and ran into trouble. I've ruined too many dashboards/stereos in the past and don't want to screw this one up. I actually like this car. Can anyone help? :liebe011:

I don't have the answer, but where did you purchase the Sirius stuff?

The radio come outs very very easy. Pull the pen holder out from the bottom under the heater controls. This will expose 2 screws at the bottom of the heater panel, remove both of these and the heater panel will lift out towards you bottom first. When this is out there are 2 more screws showing that hold the radio in place at the bottom, same again remove these and lift it out towards you bottom first. It really is this simple. A word of advise though, don't turn any power on to the car unless everything is plugged back in, otherwise the car does a diagnostic check and the airbag light comes on ( I found out the hard way ).

What are you doing with the radio ??

This might be helpful (see attachment). I removed my HU-613 from my 2002 S60 without much difficulty. Problem is, I needed to connect a FM Direct Adapter for my Sirius Sportster and there isn't an antenna connector on the back of the radio, There is in the back seat drivers side window support however, it doesn't fit the Sirius FM Adapter that they sent me. So taking out the radio was for null.

Looking for an adapter of some sort?

Good luck...
Ken

Instructions for pulling your radio can be found at

http://vccs.volvocars.se/accessories/ii/

Follow the battery disconnect instructions (see also your owner's manual) to the letter!
