Hi!

On 7 October 2005 I received delivery of our newly purchased Volvo S40 2.4i which is for my wife. In December, we noticed that the seat belts locked her in place and the Passenger Airbag warning light was telling us that the airbag was deactivated even though our 13 yr old son was sitting in it. I brought it to the shop and the result was that they replaced the belt and told us that they did not find any errors as it pertain to the airbag. I have an American Spec Car and live in Germany so I am wondering if their computer that they hooked it up to needs an update? Can anyone help me because it is still happening?

Thanx

delacrae,

I had the same problem with my 05 T5 AWD but my garage FMC Wurzburg fixed it. So I don't think it is the computer software. They must be missing something. I had to take my car back a few times to get it fixed right! My advice stay on them!

:cat: Hi there megd1 and delacrae.

If you two are in Germany-congratulations on the standard and sophistication of your English language expression.

Stella effort. English speakers rarely expect non-English speakers to be so fluent with our language. Yours is right-up-there

Cheers :right:

Hi Megd1,

Would it be possible for you to tell me what they did to fix the problem? I want to return to my Volvo shop prepared with the possible solution.

Thanx in advance

Eric

Eric,

I will have to look at my maintenance records to be sure. I think they replaced the seatbelt and weight sensor in the passenger seat. Also the recalibrated it now this is off the top of my head though. When I get home I will confirm that for you.

Hi again Megd1,

I was wondering if you had a chance to check your maintenance records?

Eric.

Eric,

I was correct replaced the weight and seatbelt sensors and recalibrated it. Also replaced the electrical connectors going to the seat ask about software updates. Check other Volvo sites might have information that can help you. Just stay on them! I have to drive about 130k round trip to the dealer so I want problems fixed right the first time!
