Volvo have had a bit of a problem in the past with image. First, the cars are not exactly seductive to look at. The 900 is greatly better than the 700, but it is ultimately a wardrobe with wheels. Most, if not all, Volvo drivers simply don't give a pair of dingo's kidneys :460: about this. After all, the driver sits inside (which in these cars is a very comfortable and safe place to be :amen: ) so can't see the boxy outside.

Part two of the image problem is caused by old flatulates :haha: who can't drive. This is addressed in the Edited Entry on Volvos - but ultimately the solution is again not to care. These cars mostly have engines with 140bhp or more on tap, they accelerate smoothly and cruise fast. If some old codgers choose to drive them in the middle lane at 65mph, why should that spoil your pleasure? :liebe011:

If your so-called friends tax you about driving a Volvo the answer is simple: let's see whose car rusts first.

My answer is simpler and more straight-forward:

If I hit you, and you hit me, who'd die first....?

They'll usually walk away with a disgusted face but 'agreeing eyes'...

:haha:

Funny Volvo joke I heard.

An old guy is driving home from work in his beat up old 240 wagon.

His phone rings, he answers, it's his wife calling him.

She sounds concerned and tells him that she wanted to see if he was o.k. "I've just been watching the news, and some nutter has been driving the wrong way on the highway / motorway for 30 miles so far and is still going", she says.

"It's worse than that", he replies, "There's thousands of them".

Ha Ha!

Does this count as blasphemy?

Take care.

Stu.

All a matter of taste. I personally like the 700,800,70 series much better than the 900 series. For that matter, I like the 200 series better also.
