Hi,

I have a 1991 440. I took the car to a garage today for a brake check and found, on leaving, that the driver window was wide open. I have tried to raise the window but nothing happens. Checking the fuse I find the fuse blown. Change the fuse and as soon as I turn the car on the fuse blows. I have tried 4 fuses now and the garage are putting this issue down to being 'coincidental'.

Any ideas as to how I can get to the root of the problem.

thx

Sorry nobody has yet replied to this one.

Most likely the window mechanism is jammed, but a wiring or motor fault is also possible.

The garage's "coincidental" comment seems logical, as the brake work is unlikely to have had them working near the window or its electrics. However, since it happened while in their custody & control, they may be willing to investigate the fault "gratis" & only charge you for any replacement part(s) needed. If you don't ask...

Let us know how you get on.
