Hi all
I have a couple of problems with my 2001 V70 (new shape).
Firstly while driving along, occassionally whilst accelarating the front screen will make a clunking creaking noise, also happens sometimes when going over some rough ground. It is as if the screen doesn't fit properly. This is the second screen which has been fitted to this car and both screens acted the same way. The new screen when fitted initially was quieter for about 6 months. Weird or what.
The second problem is that sometimes when putting the ignition key into the ignition, the key will not turn, there is no slackness in the ignition barrel. The answer is to remove the key several times and eventually the key will turn. suspecting that the key may be the problem I began using the spare ....... same problem.

Unfortunately there is a 3rd problem the front passenger door lock doesn,t always lock with my fob. It intially locks then just immediately springs back up after a couple of times the lock remains locked.

Anybody else got these problems and if so is there a solution please.

Stevie

Can't help with the windscreen or ignition - but re the locking/unlocking - if you take the door panel off, you can very slightly bend the rod that goes up through the top of the panel - i had this happen to me after replacing a door panel, and it's just an alignment problem

I had the same problem with my passenger door lock. The independant Volvo dealer that I bought the car from advised running a small amount of good quality fine oil down the gap between the button and the door panel and let gravity do the rest. I did this two or three times over a couple of weeks and the problem was solved without having to remove any door parts. That was 18 months ago I've had no problem with the lock since then.

Jeff/Cudrefin
Thanks for the response, I think I'll try the oil before attempting the door panel. I'll get back with the result, hopefully a positive one.

Thanks again
