Just bought 2003 D5. Hazard lights do not flash when locking car, but flash OK when Unlocking. Is this normal?

I didn't belive this, but it's the solution and it worked for me.

Open the bonnet/hood and let it drop from about a foot.

You'll find it sorts it

your probably like me and don't like allowing the bonnet to slam shut!

Vipes

Sounds completely backwards to me. My XC70 lights flash to verify when I lock it. When I unlock it the lights do nothing.

bonnet switch not completely closed as sticky, when you slam the bonnet then the switch is pushed closed.
If the bonnet switch shows that the bonnet is open then the alarm will not fully arm and not flashing the lights is to indicate reduced alarm function.
