I have a S40 T5 2005 model and I am having some problems getting a CD out of the CD player. I used a unknown brand of CD-R disc but after inserting it, I can not get it out. The screen displays Ejecting and you can hear the CD player searching, but the CD is never ejected.

After reading on some of the forums I realize that I should use TDK discs, but first I need to get the CD out. I had a similar experience a few months back, but after driving for an hour or so the CD suddenly ejected. That CD was different to the one that is stuck now.

Has anybody had the same problem and know of a way to get a stuck CD out of the this player without taking it in to the dealers?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I have heard a couple of people say that they have needed to take the car back to the dealer to have the CD removed. It does not cost anything but it may take some time since the dash has to be removed to get the CD changer out.

I honestly do not know any other way to get the CD out of the player.

I had this problem with a CD-R disk. The disk would not eject nor would the changer allow me to change to another disk. It made a buzzing noise for about 10 seconds before it would give me an error message. My dealer here in Germany replaced the whole CD changer citing a 'mechanism failure'.

I had the same problem with a CD-R refusing to eject. The first time it happened I took the car to the dealer.
But then my wife and I figured out a work-around:
The CD will not eject only when the disk is done playing. So instead of pressing eject, press "Next Track" to go to track 1 (or press "Prev Track") and then you will be able to eject the CD.

nx6, was that with disks that would play to start with? When I had the problem, it wouldnt play at all and you couldnt eject it.

yes, they would play from start to end. they would get stuck if you tried to eject after the final track.
