First of all, hello, I am now a proud Volvo owner, got a pretty good deal on a 1992 440, it's in really good condition and runs well. This is my second car, I'm 20 years old and am really impressed with it so far, it's comfy, drives itself and feels really safe.

I didn't get an owners manual with it though, only a Haynes manual. I'm curious as to what all the lights on the instrument panel mean, anyone able to help me out?

Also, with regards to the heated seats, sometimes they get really warm, other times, it doesn't even seem as though they're working, the fuses are fine, any ideas?

You're better off with an owner's handbook, since there are so many warning lights. You can join the Volvo Owner's Club & then download one onto your computer (see http://www.volvoclub.org.uk/400manual.shtml ), have a look on ebay or try your local Volvo stealership.

The heated seat thermostat might be faulty or a loose wire/connection might be causing intermittent failure. Hope you can track it down.
