Hi all,

Apologies for what must be a very common post, but for the life of me I cannot find the unlock codes for the stereo in my V40 (I just bought the car second hand and the code wasn't supplied)!

The stereo says it's a model "HU-655" on the front, although the sticker when you pull it out says 34W386/RY-605-3 (maybe that's a part no. or something?!)

I believe you can work the codes out from the serial numbers, so just incase some kind soul happens to know how to work this out, my serial number is: VO3860 21635274

Any help or hints are greatly appreciated before I have to resort to going to the dealer and paying more to get it unlocked!

:cat: Hi there. Can't you go back to the person you brought the car off and ask them to supply the codes? That is not unreasonable.

If that fails-the agent can supply the information in minutes-their costs usually are not prohibitive. Ask the agent to check the computer while you are there-does it need any upgrades for instance. That is about the most straight forward way you can handle the situation.

I think I have only told you the obvious, others could pull the codes but their knowledge of your computer system could not be expected or demanded to know if you need any upgrades.
