Hi, Ive proudly owned my 1993 850 GLT for quite a while now, and Ive had no major problems, but recently the car has been shuttting off on me intermitently. It starts fine i drive it for couple minutes, and than out of nowhere it dies. I wait couple minutes and start it again only to find myself in the same situation 1km down the road. The fuel and air filters are new, the battery and the alternator are fine. Ive been told that it could be the camshaft position sensor, although it could be the fuel pump but Im not sure how to check that .

Before you start the engine, twist your key to Position II and listen for the 'Rrrrrrr' or 'Ngggggg' sound... If the sound is audible, then your fuel pump is still OK.

CMP would be a good place to look at as well. If you do a search in this section, there have been many other threads on this.
