Hi There,

Recently I have been driving and my clutch always Squeaks when I engage and disengage. It seems to be squeaking Right at the end of letting go.

I have WD-40'd as much of the connections as I can get to, it will sort out for a while but then seems to not make a difference and the squeaking continues.

Does anyone know what to do?

Many Thanks

Hi Billie. Squeeking or "creaking"? Is the noise from under the bonnet or inside the cabin?

When I had a 440 the clutch pedal had a creaking noise just before top end of its travel. A drop of WD40 would ease it for a while (taking care not to get any on the pedal rubbers of course). I suspect that it was the return spring creaking.

If the noise is from inside the cabin & the problem persists, you may need to remove the clutch pedal and grease the metal shaft that the pedal pivots on, then fit new nylon bushings.

Creaking i would call it. I was driving the other day and it was terrible  .

You can feel the creaking when the pedal is in motion if you know what I mean.

I will try what you say!

Thanks!

That's exactly what my old 440 did - must be a trait.

Let me know if same "fix" cures your one as well.
