hi guys,
newbie to the forum here not sure if anyone can help.
i have a 940 lpt 2.3 ltr.
i have some sort of leak of coolant into the car, windows are steaming up etc, i am pretty sure its the matrix, either a broken pipe or the matrix is damaged. is there any way i can isolate the matrix from the engine until im have time to get the matrix apart and check it out.
thanks
Bill

The Haynes book implies that you can clamp the hoses going down to the studs on the cockpit/engine compartment bulkhead. Remember, it is pressurised system. I suspect it is best to release the cap on the expansion tank a bit and keep a close eye on the temperature gauge.

I've just got a similar type of problem. I don't get steam inside, but extremely cold weather (-30 deg C) caused my system to ice and subsequently there is abig leak on the right side just after front wheel and about 10 inches from the wheel inner face towards the center of the car.

I am opening the system tomorrow given the ambient temperature allows my fingers to do it. My car also has a Vebasto heating system. Could be under it too.

I kept an eye on the gauge and it kept going up and no heat inside. I stopped to let the heat spread, waited for 30 mins and started again and it seemed ok. About after half an hours drive suddenly the gauge rocketed.

Any ideas?
